The Fort Worth Public Library has approximately 10,000 items pertaining to the history of Fort Worth and Tarrant County. The department also keeps a large vertical file (77 drawers) of newspaper clippings. These clippings date from the 1940s to the present. They are organized by subjects ranging from biographical materials, museums, elections, city government, hospitals, education, streets, civic organizations and so on.
