The region has a population of 5.1 million, which is more than 30 states in the nation, and an area of approximately 12,800 square miles which is larger than nine states.” "The North Texas Region is one of the most dynamic business environments in North America: diverse economies, second-ranked high tech center, global market access, superior airport and distribution network, world-class transportation systems, diverse population, high-quality educational institutions, high standard of living at a moderate cost, regional incentives."

Resources For Our Region
Our region is undergoing dramatic change and faces complex regional issues involving mobility, air quality, water supply, and other environmental resources. All of these regional issues are interrelated and all of them are directly affected by local decisions about the use of land.
The Voice in Greater Fort Worth
With population growth expected to almost double in the next 25 years, the Greater Fort Worth Real Estate Council is in place to serve as the voice for commercial real estate in North Texas. Meeting the needs of the development community is the main focus of the association.
We are confident GFWREC programs involving leadership, networking, collaboration and the contribution of industry resources make a difference in the vitality of the economy and the quality of life. We are working on the behalf of many critical issues:
North Central Texas Council of Governments
The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is a voluntary association of, by and for local governments, established to assist local governments in planning for common needs, cooperating for mutual benefit, and coordinating for sound regional development. www.dfwinfo.com
DFW Metropolitan Statistical Area Defined
The Dallas-Fort Worth Consolidated Metropolitan Statistical Area (CMSA) is a combination of the eight-county Dallas Primary Metropolitan Statistical Area (PMSA) and the four-county Fort Worth-Arlington PMSA.

Demographic Forecast The forecast conducted by the Research and Information Services department of NTCOG, predicts growth of almost 4 million persons and just over 2 million jobs between 2000 and 2030. By 2030, the area is expected to reach 9.1 million persons and approximately 5.4 million jobs. www.tracez.com
